Noteworthy Contributions
Concord Orthopaedics is a major team sponsor for the 2009 Babe Ruth Softball 16U World Series. This is New Hampshires’s first-ever Softball World Series, scheduled for August 8 – 15, 2009. Eight regional champions from across the country will join New Hampshire State Champion Berlin and the host team from Concord at Doane Diamond at Concord’s Memorial Field. Concord Orthopaedics supports Concord Hospital’s major fund raising events in 2009. The theme benefit, A Night at the Oscars, raises funds to support the Center for Cardiac Care; Rock’N Race, the largest 5K race/walk in New England, raises funds to support the Payson Center for Cancer Care; the Challenge Scramble Golf Tournament raises funds to support the ACE Program (Acute Care for the Elderly); and Pedaling for Payson raises funds to support the Gene Gillis Endowment Fund which covers out-of-pocket expenses for Payson Center patients. Concord Orthopaedics is proud to be a sponsor of these important and fun events to support the health care community of Concord and surrounding areas.
Concord Regional VNA's event "Celebrating 110 Years in New Hampshire Homes" took place on May 7, 2009 and was supported by Concord Orthopaedics. The event was hosted by Company C, Inc and benefited the Parent Friends Program and Senior Health Clinics.
The Derry Rail Trail Alliance was the recipient of a contribution by Concord Orthopaedics in 2008. The Derry Rail Trail Alliance was formed to see the Derry section of the old Manchester and Lawrence Branch of the Boston and Maine Railroad turned into a recreational trail for cyclists and pedestrians with the goal of extending the path all the way to Windham to connect to the Windham Rail Trail. We are glad to be a sponsor of this ambitious endeavor.
The Health Education Center at New Hampshire Technical Institute was chosen by Concord Orthopaedics for a major grant in 2007 to support NHTI’s efforts to increase enrollment and quality in their nursing education program and to respond to the shortage of nurses in New Hampshire. We recognize the need for quality nursing/health education in New Hampshire and are pleased to support NHTI in this endeavor.
Concord Orthopaedics joined Northeast Delta Dental, Citizen’s Bank, and Stonyfield Farm as a major contributor to Concord’s Express Soccer Club, supporting its efforts to build a seven-field soccer complex on the New Hampshire Technical Institute’s campus. The dedication ceremony took place on Saturday, October 6, 2007. As an ongoing supporter of local sports and youth events, we are proud to have been a part of this worthwhile project.
The New Hampshire Food Bank was chosen for a major contribution. For Thanksgiving 2006 the NH Food Bank successfully distributed over 15,000 turkeys with all the fixings. This was a 25% increase over the previous year. We are proud to help in the fight against hunger in New Hampshire.
